Black is the new White?

Ever since the iPod Nano, Apple has been introducing more and more “black” versions of their products. First it spread to the iPod with Video, and just a while ago to their top line Macbooks. Many complain about the last product, due to the price you pay just for the black coating being around $100, [...]

Make Mine To Go, Please!

I love Gmail. I mean, who doesn’t like the cool, subject-threaded, AJAX, searchable interface? Okay, maybe not everyone is a fan of Gmail’s whizzbang approach to Web email. But what’s important is the fact that it’s all done over-the-Web. Everything’s going the way of the Web these days.
One of my most commonly-used word processors is [...]

Macbooks Released

Apple finally released the MacBook this morning after what seems like a month of false-rumors about the launch date. It comes with either a 1.8GHz or 2.0GHz Intel Core Duo, 512MB RAM, and a 60, 80, 100 or 120GB hard drive. Some have complained that the weight of the unit is too much. Weighing [...]

Use your Sony Ericsson as a Front Row remote

I recently acquired one of the best cellphones of the past year, the SE k750i and quickly searched for applications for it, since I had already heard of many great ones.
One of the first that I found was an application that turns your phone into a remote for default media player (WMP for Windows and [...]

Sony’s first Blu-Ray Laptop appears

Sony has made it tradition to announce similar gadgets to Apple’s on the same day, or a few days after. And with the Macbook being released today, Sony stayed faithful to it’s tradition and introduced today their new flagship model with a Blu-Ray Burner, which I think will be the first ever seen (on a [...]

Apple MacBook Has Landed

After what seems like months of speculation, Apple released the new MacBook this morning. This will replace the iBook as well as the 12″ Powerbook, slimming down the Apple laptop line to three sizes across two models: 13″ MacBook and 15″ and 17″ MacBookPro.
What do you get when you put up to 2GHz of pure [...]

More on WiFi and Cafes Not Being Such a Good Mix

I recently wrote here on why I thought WiFi and Cafes might not exactly be a good mix for business, with the possibility of abuse from users who tend to overextend their stay while surfing over the cafe’s WiFi network. Well, right now, I just realized I’d been on the receiving end of such a [...]

Sony’s New UMPC?

MobilityToday has digged up some pictures of what might be Sony’s next UMPC. Supposedly these will be the specs:
# 7″ touch screen,
# Slide-out QWERTY keyboard,
# Core Solo,
# WAN,
# Biometric sensor,
# Dual cameras,
# “UMPC” with Windows XP Pro (not Tablet Edition)
# 3G Enabled
# Bluetooth/Wifi

I’m not sure of the veracity of the source, but it sure is [...]

PSP Camera on E3

Though the “big boys” took everyone’s eyes away from the portable consoles Sony and Konami put on a pretty good how for their little media device. Particularly, the eagerly awaited camera which is rumored to become built-in on the next revision of the PSP. I don’t know it many games will use it (actually I [...]

The Difficulty with ToS Compliance

Nude photos on Flickr. AdSense on mature websites. Obscene photos on wiki encyclopedias. Corporate blogs on personal blogging services. We’ve seen ‘em all. Sometimes we click that feedback link and report the offense to the appropriate authorities, but in most cases, we just turn a blind eye. In most cases, after all, one wouldn’t expect [...]

Microsoft: Buy a Wii

It’s not really as if Microsoft is siding with its worst nemesis, like Google, here (”I’m gong to f#@#$g kill Google!” -Ballmer). But it’s sure strange to hear Microsoft siding with a competitor, which was the way some officials seemed to be going over at E3.
Microsoft Corp. sided with rival Nintendo Co. Ltd. on Wednesday [...]

Skype Now With Live Translation

In this day and age of the popularity of instant messaging, email, Internet telephony, and videoconferencing as tools for business communication, dealing with people across seas and borders is just as fast as popping up at a colleague’s room or cubicle asking for those updated sales figures or the latest rumours on Google or Apple [...]

Google Trends: New SEO tool on the block

Did you know that “good” is more popular than “evil?”
At least with Google, this is the case. According to a Google Trends query comparing the two keywords, “good” maintains a considerable margin over “evil” in terms of search volume. And “good” also has the lead in terms of mentions on Google News articles.
Good (blue) beats [...]

Yesterday Nintendo unveiled more details about their innovative gaming approach and today I bring you the first official details of the PS3. Game-wise, Sony put up an excelent show.
