TechTV to be Resurrected as UndoTV

TechTV alumni Leo Laporte and Chris Pirillo are planning to bring back TechTV as UndoTV. They’re apparently adopting DIGG’s user-owned/contributed content model.
Two former show hosts at the defunct cable and satellite channel, Chris Pirillo and Leo Laporte, recently floated the idea of a TechTV Reunion that would let alumni of the popular (to geeks anyway) […]

Griffin RocketFM Review

The Griffin RocketFM is a small USB device that allows you to transmit audio from your PC to a nearby stereo system. When I first thought about the concept, I was all excited. I could use my stereo as a second set of speakers to play my music, as my current speaker setup on the […]

Sony’s First Blu-ray Drive Not Playing Movies

Surprise, surprise, it looks like the delay of Blu-ray drives in North America was not without reason, as the folks elsewhere in the world are having troubles with the Sony BWU-100A, an internal PC optical drive that is for reading and writing Blu-ray discs.
The problem with the drive is simple, it can’t play Blu-ray movies. […]

Google Warns Against Using Its Name as Verb

Use “google” with caution. The use of the term as a verb has apparently irked Google. This is particularly with regard to using “google” as a generic term for searching even on other engines and portals.
Search engine giant Google, known for its mantra “don’t be evil”, has fired off a series of legal letters to […]

Chinese Sue Dell for Processor Mix-Up

Dell is in hot water among some clients in China for allegedly misleading customers in their marketing materials. The group of Chinese customers, whom I presume would constitute corporate buyers, has filed a class-action suit against the company for marketing laptops with the wrong type of microprocessor.
The Dell customers thought they were buying laptops with […]

Unless you were hiding under a rock during the last gaming expos you’ve certainly heard of one of the PS3’s most promising titles by the french developer Ubisoft: Assassin’s Creed. Homebrew PS1 Emulator makes video debut

Back in the years when PSP homebrew had just started off, many people noticed the quantity of PS1 game ports made for the PSP and therefore assumed the PSP could emulate the PS1 code completely.
It was until Megaman Legends came out for the PSP though that the developers finally realized this was true, because not […]

EA warns Sony to take action with the PSP

It seems that this hasn’t been one of Sony’s best years, with blogs and customers everywhere pointing guns at their flaws or the misunderstood (or simply odd) advertisement tactics. With shops in the US dropping the distribution of UMD movies and UMD/PSP sales falling further and further behind the Nintendo DS’ sales the only thing […]

Froogle Out, Google Video In

Google has basically buried their Froogle site by removing it from the Google home page, and replacing it with Google Video. Steve Rubel noticed it yesterday, and hitwise shows what happens when a site is removed or added to the Google home page.

Google Video goes up in traffic, Froogle drops to next to nothing.

Google’s Malicious Site Alert in Action (in Gmail)

I’ve been receiving a lot of 419 scam and phishing emails lately (I wonder about the sudden influx of such messages), and there are times I try to check out the sites linked to, just out of academic curiosity. Of course, I do always check target URLs on the status bar before clicking links, and […]

G4/TechTV vs. Jack Thompson

Anti-Violent Video Game activist, Jack Thompson, went on G4/TechTV’s Attack of the Show to defend his views that video game violence has been destroying America’s youths. Well, being a video game network, G4/TechTV didn’t let that slide. You can watch the video of the interview right here. Adam Sessler, host of X-Play, […]

Ultimate Avengers 2: Review

The sequel to the original Ultimate Avengers film, based on Mark Millar’s ‘The Ultimates’ comic book series, has finally been released. The movie wasn’t terrible, just a little underwhelming. Better than the first installment, at any rate.
