Although Safari obviously isn’t ready for prime-time yet, Apple released an announcement today saying that they are pleased to say that 1 million copies of Safari have been downloaded in the past two days.
Does this mean that people really want to use this new browser, regardless of how bugged or insecure it is, or is it simply because Safari has become a buzz-word thanks to the iPhone and the WWDC keynote?
From my point of view, I think that it was a smart move of Apple to release the browser for Windows, if they want to see a lot of applications developed for their cellphone. Now the development of third party applications won’t be limited to Mac OS users.
Personally, I tested it to see if it lived up to it’s claims and to be able to check how websites render with it. If you have downloaded the latest version Safari why have you done so?

2Fastest browser indeed. It crashed at start-up right after a normal installation, a record breaker!

3I downloaded it just so I could try it out. It has subsequently been uninstalled and I’m back to Firefox.

4I have been working in mortgage industry for about 5 years and we found a solution that does this. We use it for wireless bar code reading and GPS tracking. The best part is we can customize the forms on-the-fly which saves us a lot of time over a customized solution. The company that makes the product is Westlake out of LA I think. There website is http://www.westlakesoftware.com. Their product is call AirMobility.net. They made a custom Extranet for us for our company to use but their main product site is http://www.airmobility.net. We found this service set up to make it pretty easy for us to migrate the information to our back office system. We use the technology and route it to 40 different servers nationally; has worked flawlessly for about three years. Customer service is really nice, just contact them, im sure they can help you out.
