David Lazarus of the San Francisco Chronicle published an article today that took an in-depth look at one of the sites that claim to give out Free iPods.
It was a site that I had not heard of before, and its practices seem to be much different than that of Gratis, which runs the FreeIpods.com and FreeMiniMac.com sites.
The site in question, referred to as the Incentive Reward Center, seems to not require you to refer anyone, but you have to complete several offers yourself, and apparently send in the information for verification.
Lazarus even contacted one of the people who gave a testimony for the site, who claimed they were payed for sending in their picture for use on the site.
I have definitely seen a plethora of sites pop-up claiming to offer free iPods, televisions, computers and more. From what I have read, Gratis seems to have the best reputation of the bunch.
Has anyone tried using this site to get a free iPod or anything else? What was your experience with the program?

4Why pay money? with a credit card, when you have an alternative to get an ipod totally free just over a matter of time. To be 13 years or older and reside in Canada or the US. Well, your prayers have been answered, go to http://www.mikesfreeipodguide.cjb.net for a guide on how to do JUST THAT!.

5I did the iPod thing with Incentive Reward Center and got my iPod in about a month. I signed up for an Entertainment book, a CD club, a couple of book clubs, a newspaper and a Discover card. I’m using everything I signed up for. They did include a form in the box with the iPod offering a $50.00 gift card for a pic and a testimonial, but so what? I got a free iPod from them!

6I did Gatis freeipods offer and did indeed get a free iPod. It was a hassle and it took about 6-8 weeks after I completed everything to get my ipod in the mail. Most of the offers have some $5-10 shipping or registration fee and you have to make sure that you cancel whatever offer it is before the “free” trial is over. And yes, you will likely get junk mail from whatever offer you sign up for. I simply created a bunch of email accounts for me and my friends to use so that the junk mail could be funneled to these locations. Interstingly enough, freeipods also asked me to send a photo of me with my iPod. They didn’t offer a free gift card, though. If they had, I probably would have done it. So, if you are diligent and have five friends who are willing to partake in this fiasco, you can get an iPod.

7I’ve done the incentive reward center promotion to get an iPod. Whole thing start to finish was 29 days. I also did the Consumer Incentive Promotions (I believe related to Incentive reward center) and it also took a grand total of 29 days to get a Mac Mini.
I’m starting a new one.. I believe by a related site as well. Product Opinion Panel to get another iPod. I’m detailing the experience on my website.

9I looked at this website and decided not to do it because on page 3 of 3 where you have to select two of the offers, I wasn’t eligible for 2 of the 4 things listed (they were credit cards I already had) and the others were a dental plan and a Direct TV set up!
If you’re thinking of doing this, definately flip through all the pages first, deciding what offers you’ll do and how much they’ll cost you and how much bother it’s going to be to cancel memberships after trials, et cetera.

4gb black ipod nano from freepay
$250 paypal from offercentric
