Apple has released iPhone Software 1.1.1, which contains, most notably, the brand spankin’ new iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store. Users of the iPhone or iPod Touch can now remotely download, according to Apple, every song that iTunes offers.
I haven’t gotten to try it out yet, but Michael over at our sister site Apple Gazette has applied the update (despite a bit of a rocky start). He confirmed that the store won’t work over EDGE, only over wi-fi…hence the Wi-Fi part of the Wi-Fi Music Store.
Here’s the full list of updates:
• Louder speakerphone and receiver volume
• Home Button double-click shortcut to phone favorites of music controls
• Space bar double-tap shortcut to intelligently insert period and space
• Mail attachments are viewable in portrait and landscape
• Stocks and cities in Stocks and Waether can be re-ordered
• Apple Bluetooth Headset battery status in the Status Bar
• Support for TV Out
• Preference to turn off EDGE/GPRS when roaming internationally
• New Passcode lock time intervals
• Adjustable alert volume
Besides the store, I’m excited for the double-tap shortcut, and possibly the TV Out.
