Alright so my first question in the Mac Question Session section is what is a good P2P software package to use? On the PC I loved WinMX because it served my needs. What should I look into on the OS X platform?

4I’ve recently tried XFactor, and I’ve been very happy with its connectivity to various networks, and its Mac-like interface. The dealmaker though, is its support for Growl, a wonderful systemwide notification utility.

5I’ll refer you to Mac P2P Guide and then on to Poisoned, a OpenFT/giFT client (Kazaa). Hopefully, eXeem will develop a Mac client soon, it is a P2P BitTorrent client, i.e. Kazaa powered by a decentralized BitTorrent.

6I use xfactor too. Pretty happy. For ED2K I use the beta Mac GUI. For BT, I use Azureus.

7i’d go with the above:
azureus is a hard-to-beat BT client.
poisoned used to be good, but hasn’t worked for me lately.
don’t rule out frogblast (hotline)

8I concur with the posters above, Acquisition is my favorite Mac P2P program by far.

9Acquisition looks alright. You can’t really go wrong with Gnutella, so it has my vote (installed, but I haven’t used it yet).
But do you really need anything other than bittorrent? Free, native to just about every platform, easy to use. If you don’t like the barebones default version, get Azureus. It works great and looks nice-ish.
And Limewire’s not bad in a pinch.

11I have to say Xfactor for P2P. I’ve tried some other programs but its Xfactor that works best for me.

12Cabos … it’s the new kid on the block, but it works well for me.
