Nike and Apple are teaming up to offer a combo package. A sensor designed to fit inside a pair of Nike+ shoes that will sync up with your Apple iPod Nano and turn it into a pedometer, tracking your run in real time.
With a sensor in your shoe and a receiver on your iPod nano, your run takes on a whole new dimension. See the minutes tick by. Watch the miles unfold. Hear real-time feedback. All to your favorite music â including the one song that always gets you through the home stretch.

1Good idea, but why stop there? Since this will require a wireless receiver on the Nano anyway, why not also have things like heart rate monitor on wristband? Or to take it one more step, an addition to the firmware that automatically plays a tune (or a playlist) in the Nano with the tempo that matches your pulse rate? Many runners spend a lot of time doing that anyway before they go out, and it’ll be awesome if it could be done automatically and in real-time.
