I mostly picked up this trade paperback out of my undying love for Ghost Rider. The presence of Wolverine was just an added bonus, really. This trade collects the Wolverine segments of Marvel Comics Presents #62-71. Marvel Comics Presents originally contained four stories per issue, so as a result, each Wolverine segment […]
When I think of Space Ghost, I draw several comparisons between him and Batman. It goes beyond the fact that Alex Toth was asked by the execs at Hanna Barbara to design Space Ghost in a manner than emulated the Dark Knight, but in the history of the character. Space Ghost first appeared […]
Certain horror franchises have been doing rather well in the comic book market, these days. Army of Darkness, Friday the 13th, a Nightmare on Elm Street, Re-Animator and Darkman have all seen comic-based revivals. Well, next in line is Chucky, the killer doll from the Child’s Play franchise.
Devil’s Due’s Josh Blaylock had this […]
In December 1997, Marvel Comics decided it was time to cash-in on the ever-increasing anime and manga fad. And it just so happens Marvel had genuine manga versions of both Spider-Man and the X-Men just lying around. Of the two mangas released at the time, I greatly preferred X-Men, but with it being […]
As a service to Ninja Turtle fans everywhere, the official Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles website has been uploading complete issues of the original Mirage Studios TMNT vol. 1 once a month. So far, they’re up through issue 4. If you like the TMNT but never got the chance to read the original comics […]
Tales from the Crypt, the Vault of Horror, the Haunt of Fear…the list of classic intensely violent EC Comics titles goes on for miles. Previously, their only availability outside of expensive originals was in black and white collections or single issue reprints with the issue orders all screwed up.
Well, Gemstone has taken it upon […]
The New Mutants, the original New Mutants, remain one of my favorite spin-offs of the X-Men franchise and one of my all-time favorite X-teams, period. I was extremely pleased when they released a trade paperback collecting their earliest appearances. One of the better pieces of X-Men history, certainly worth picking up.

First, Ash (of the Evil Dead trilogy) fought Herbert West: Re-Animator. Then, he was pitted against the Vampire King himself, Dracula. Next, he teamed up with Sam Raimi’s cult classic anti-hero, Darkman. So, what other horror franchise could Ash possibly crossover with next?
The freakin’ Marvel Zombies.
Didn’t see that one coming. For […]
In case you haven’t heard, a new comic book miniseries has just been released by Dynamite Entertainment, featuring Ash of the Evil Dead Trilogy (The Evil Dead, Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn and Army of Darkness) teaming-up with Darkman of the Darkman trilogy (Darkman, Darkman II and Darkman III: Die, Darkman, Die).

I’ve read plenty of outstanding Spider-Man storylines, however, “Kraven’s Last Hunt” takes the spotlight as my all-time favorite. An intense, frightening and magnificently-paced horror story, it is, in my mind, the quintessential Spider-Man tale.

Watching movies, whether on the silverscreen or at your home-theatre, usually entails a suspension of disbelief. Particularly if the film were about something out of the ordinary, you would usually expect to be treated with no less than the best of eye candy–namely the visual effects. Sometimes we tend to take for granted the effort […]
