Bad news for Justice League fans, Warner Bros. has reportedly shelved the live action movie that it was working on.
The Justice League movie, which was to be directed by George Miller, has faced a number of obstacles, among them the failure to get tax breaks for filming in Australia as well as difficulties in finishing the script. The options for the stars that have been cast for the movie have been allowed to lapse but the studio told the supposed cast that it is still determined to make the film in the future and, if possible, with the same actors.
Another matter that further complicates the whole thing is the impending end of the Screen Actors Guild contract. Warner had wanted to shoot the movie ASAP so that any work would have been done for the actors before they go on strike as well to join the still-striking Writers Guild of America members.
I really hope that this movie gets made and that it doesn’t suck. I still have the unfortunate picture of the made for TV Justice League movie etched in my brain.
