Video podcasts online have become very popular, but for me, there seems to be a big problem, especially where Podshow is concerned: their talent leaves.
Is Podshow unable to pay enough money, or are there just better opportunities elsewhere, I am not sure, but one thing I do know is that the Podshow network is probably hurting right now at the loss of Natali Del Conte, host of TeXtra.
Natali Del Conte is a beautiful, bubbly woman who has stood out and branded herself as both intelligent and interesting and she has decided to go from Podshow, to CNET TV.
From TechCrunch:
Del Conte, will be moving from San Francisco to New York and joining the CNET TV team with a new news show, she says. It won’t be like TeXtra and a number of other tech news shows (webbalert, Rocketboom, PopSnap, Geekbrief, CommandN, etc.) that she describes as “camera, girl, news.” She’s not saying much about the format of the new show, other than it will be much different than TeXtra. She’ll cover CES in January for CNET, and the new show will start in February 2008.
It looks like online video production companies are going to have to start figuring out ways to keep their talent, as the industry continues to expand.
Also, does anyone know any great technology shows that don’t need a woman to figurehead it for us guys to be interested?

1There’s a great show produced here in Australia called “Good Game”. It’s usually about video games, but they occasionally have a few bits of technology on there as well. There’s only one girl on the show, and she only occasionally has a segment, but in general it’s just the two guys with all the news, reviews and info. Brilliant show!

2My understanding is that CNET owns Podshow, so it’s more of a promotion within the parent company.

3The great part about Good Game is that it’s reviews aren’t bought like that other tech show on that other channel. There’s also a video podcast available of the episodes soon after they air.
