Last week we posted this article about the 2007 version of the Transformers Theme. The song came from SectorSeven.org, an official site for the film…and let’s face it…just look at the comments…the song sucks. It’s terrible. Horrible. Awful.
Well, turns out, that isn’t the official 2007 theme. We’re not sure if that theme is even on the soundtrack or in the film. If it is, it’s terrible…but it’s not the official Transformers 2007 theme.
The OFFICIAL them is by a band called MUTEMATH, and you can listen to the entire theme on their MySpace page.
I actually like this one a lot.
What do you think?

1[...] ForeverGeek.com has some new info on the OFFICIAL Transformers Theme song (and it’s not that piece of garbage we heard last week… thank God.) It is by a band called MUTEMATH, and you can listen to the entire theme on their MySpace page. [...]

2defiantly better than the other one. But I think the lyrics are dated… they should write something more original and up to date.

5that song blows ass…. being as the transformers are big machines… i’d say some of fear factory’s older shit would better suit the transformers. not some gay indie shit that 15000 other bands sound like right now.

6I LOVE MuteMath; in fact I’m going to see them live in Bristol (UK) on Tuesday. But I’m not a fan of the song. It’s just too… I dunno…. ‘cool’? I’d have preferred a crappy nu-metal band to have done a rocked up cover version. But I hope it doesn’t put anyone off the band. Listen to their other tracks! Solid musical GOLD! :D

7Well… it’s better I guess, but it’s so wussy.
Where’s the crunch? We’re talking about giant robots, I want music that sounds like giant, powerful, threatening, scary robots. Not one that sounds like a movie involving some 5′4″ angst bots in cardigans.

8Actually didn’t like this version either, reminds me of Sting via his “Fields of Gold” cd phase, too mid 90s-ish. Wonder why they are going with more emo rock type songs when for once the theme should be more techno/electronic. Their robots for gods sake.

9Nah this is awful as well. Why don’t they just reuse the one from the old cartoon movie? Sure its ’80’s but it kicks an insane amount of arse :)

10this version doesnt suck as much as the last one(which accomplishing that feat would be hard to do)…however…i am still not really a fan and it’s the same thing throughout the entire song…and it has no PAZAZ!

11It actually was starting to sound awesome until the weak ass, sorry fricking soft ass emo drum set came in. WTF?? Transformers is about Big ass, Ass kicking ROBOTS. Think, ELECTRONICA. They captured the feel all the way up to the pussy ass drums. I think even the chorus is good, just backed by weak ass sissy soft emo drummer who drinks Chai Tea with lemon peel.. Make it rock.

12use some electronic beats and drums. Aphex Twin could have made a WICKED Transformers Theme.
June 25th, 2007 at 2:39 pm
13i hope it will be electronic like the old one from mighty morphin power rangers
June 25th, 2007 at 5:39 pm
14Its awful. Its slow, boring, and repetitive. I wish they would let fans make the theme instead of trying to make a popular song for radio play or whatever the hell they we’re thinking.

15James on Cinemassacre put it pretty well:
Hair metal and giant fighting robots work well.
I can’t honestly say that this electronica is…spectacular in any way. Robots that blow each other up should not have something “soft” like that, nor should it be “weak”. It needs to contain some power, something fast driven and feels like a steel fist to the face.

16I like the White Lion version from the animated movie better.

19o .. and the theme song.. it works :D

20I hate this song. I like the heavy metal version instead. This version by Mute Math does not represent the powerful and hi-tech robots in the movie. It sounds cartoonish.

21The new theme song is pretty good. I have a question regarding some of the other songs in the movie though if someone can help me out…
When Bumblebee turns into the newer Camaro, a song comes on that I swear I heard on a BMW ad or in Kill Bill, but I can’t find it anywhere. Does anyone remember the part and/or the song?

22I can Feel it, Paul. And I want to get it too.
PLEASE, help someone for us!!!!!!!!!!!!
This song is the best movie-theme of the world, but we coudn’t find it.
I Repeat, it’s not an original theme song, what you can buy the shop.
I think, this sounds made by Steven Jablowsky or Hans Zimmer.

23I’m with Pair and Segal…I’ve been looking everywhere for that song. it’s a recurring theme music but I can’t find it anywhere either!
kawidood@yahoo.com if you find it!:)

24Segal and Shawn,
Segal, you were right, the music for the movie was done by Steve Jablonsky and Jonathan Flood.
An official score soundtrack for the movie is not yet available, although there is a rumor that one is in the works and will be released in a few months. In the meantime, someone has packaged the music from the video game and hosted it as a Torrent. The torrent file is available here: http://www.mininova.org/tor/781744
