One of my firsts posts here at ForeverGeek was about how Google looked like a decade ago. Now here’s more Wayback Machine goodness. This time, it’s about how the early Web adopters looked like.
There is nothing interesting to find and you would do well to avoid prolonged exposure to this heinous baby of an internet. In fact, I can’t in good conscience even recommend you read this article.
Okay, we’ve been forewarned! But, IMHO, it is an interesting read, after all.
The Web in 1996 was not a pretty sight, to tell you the truth. I should know. Tools like the Waybak Machine gets us a chance to laugh at ourselves for how tacky our web design was back then. It’s kind of a friendly reminder to be more humane in building websites and web apps. Perhaps ten years from now, we’ll also be laughing at how the Web looked like in 2006.
