How would you like it if every time you moved more than two meters away from your computer, it locked up, so that no one could read that nasty e-mail you were about to send off.

The “Screen Lock with USB Mouse” locks your PC once you get further than 2 metres from it, if you take the little receiver with you that is. Simple, nice and efficient, what do you want more? The manufacturer promises a battery life of more than 2000 hours. It’s for Windows PC’s only though.

1There are a few down sides I can see.
first being if you already have a very nice mouse then your not going to want to switch mouse just to use this (why isnt it just its own device located on the back of the computer or something?)
second is does locking the computer during activity always go smoothly? does it fuck up applications such as encoding or real time applications such as games?
Does the unlocking happen extremely quickly?

2While the few down-sides posted by Norgus are what we need to be asking, this is a very clever idea… I could personally use this since I hate people going on my computer when they don’t have permission to.

3I actually own the keychain version of this. Unless they have had someone who has even half a brain fix their UI, don’t bother. The UI is /horrible/ for configuring this thing. Also, the receiver is cheap. The paint was coming off of mine within the first couple days and it’s way to light and “plasticky”. OH. And keys in my pocket were /constantly/ clicking its little switch, which is annoying as hell when you’re at your computer.

4Thanks for letting us know about it; I’m not planning on getting it now.
