Writing an article such as this one makes me realize how old my computer is right now, as the Hard-drive I’m currently using only has 500gb of capacity, and Buffalo is now releasing a very small portable one.
These hard-drives come with the “Turbo USB” feature that Buffalo uses, and they claim that their products with such technology are 20% faster than “normal” USB devices. The hard-drives are also shock-proof and and will be available in Black and White, like most tech products nowadays.

The Windows version of the drive will cost 53.000 Yen, or approximately $494, and the Mac OS X version will cost approximately $543. Why the Mac version costs more, and what’s different from the Windows version is beyond me. Perhaps they have some specific software associated with the hard-drive.

1Have we actually reached a time when we can say that a hard drive “only has 500gb of capacity”? Man.

2I guess when they say ‘Mac OS X version’ they just mean a model with firewire which would explain the big difference in price.

3Definitely worth the price. Can I have mine in firewire for my PC?
