Samsung Shows off their new CX305T 30″ LCD Screen

From the Those damn Koreans get everything first department comes the announcement of this new, and impressive 30″ inch screen, for those of you that need a big canvas, or just feel the urge to show off.

This monitor packs 2560×1600 pixels (horizontally and vertically respectively), a 1000:1 ratio, 6ms response time and 400cd/m2 brightness. This monitor will set you back, approximately â¬1,267 or $1660 USD, not including the trip to Korea, or the nice Korean lady’s phone number, of course.

I don’t get it;

Several American manufacturers offer 30″ LCD screens, including Apple’s 30″ Cinema HD (http://www.apple.com/displays/), which has been available for several years to American customers. What makes this screen different?

A Samsung monitor is not the same as a Dell monitor, or even an Apple one ;)

Every time, some Korean/Japanes product are introduced, writer makes comment about the lady in the picture, everytime ! LOL

Something like..

- Lady not included -
- Her phone number is extra 20$ -

A female friend of mine complained about company make woman as marketing tool and
ya di ya da…

Well, putting a cute woman right next to the
product may not be the most elegant way to
advertise, but it works.

It just does. :-)

I have paired 3 TFT’s together giving me 4200×1200 resolution but i guess it’s not the same like having 2 of those screens paired. Just imagine a resolution of 6000×1600, that’s nice.

Without wishing to sound too pedantic…just how do you ‘pair’ three TFTs together? join, group, assemble, almagamate(if you must)…yes - but pair? I always thought a pair was two? ;-P (hey, it’s late and I’m cranky - go figure! …oh yes - and jealous :D[he says, sitting in front of his single CRT]) - Anyway, Korean or not ‘Me want one (drool)’

To answer the first post, this monitor–compared to Apple and Dell counterparts–is brighter, has more contrast, and most important of all (at least to me), less than half the response time. And as Griffith pointed out, it’s by Samsung who makes the best LCDs today.

Also, according to TFA, the MSRP is 1267euros ($1663USD) which is pretty competitive. If I was in the market for a 30″, there wouldn’t even be a second thought about my choice.

Also, Samsung has a zero-dead-pixel policy. Dell and Apple and HP won’t honor their warranties even if there’re a bunch of (e.g. 5+) blaring white/black/red/blue/green pixels on your screen.

(Well… Apple doesn’t officially release their policy and shuts down anyone who tries to post it on the net… so you may get different results depending on which retailer you deal with.)
