Sony unveiled yesterday their newest compact camera with very impressive specs and capabilities, meet the DSC-N1:

This camera can shoot picture up to 8 Megapixels (not that I bother much about that since my pictures are mostly 1 to 3 MP) and an impressive ISO 800 sensitivity which is great for removing the blur out of pictures.

As if taking great pictures wasn’t enough, it also has a sexy 3″ touchscreen. Yes, touchscreen! You might wander “Why do I need a touchscreen on a camera?” Well the answer is simple, for the same reason the DS has one, to have fun!

The N1 allows you to do scribbles on the pictures you took and access the menus with the touchscreen. I don’t mind much about the menus, but I can already think of countless uses for the drawing function *evil grin*

If you’re interested, this camera will be released on the 18th of this month for a whooping price of approximately $512 (depending on the value of the dollar by then of course). I’m going to wait for DPreview’s review, but I’m seriously considering buying it.
