Toshiba introduced a new laptop meant for the US market with really juicy specifications:
Duo Core T2400 (1.83GHz), 1GB of PC5300 DDR2, a SATA HDD, S-Video, DVI-I and a 256MB GDDR3 NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS

This isn’t very surprising, seeing as laptops are selling much more than desktop computers (and other laptops with similar specifications have been released). The question is, is our technology really evolving so much that we are starting to find laptops better than desktops? Or are we simply buying more laptops because the most important advancements in technology lately have been for mobile devices?

1I bought an Inspiron 9300 at the start of last year. For me it was a matter of convenience. I could have bought an equally powerful desktop for much less, but then I wouldn’t have been able to use it at work as well as at home (not a requirement, but a definite aid), nor would I have been able to take it to friends’ places as easily. LANs are a much simpler affair for me now ;)
