Forget about the retro alarm clocks, and say hello to the new ones like YOM.

The YOM is capable of playing MP3 songs directly from a USB stick, just place it on the USB dock and you’re good to go. This means that instead of listening to radio or *beep* sounds to wake up, you can pick specific songs that will start playing at the desired moment.
On the front side there is a small screen that displays information about the time, alarm settings, and music (artist/title) being played.
The USB stick then becomes a joystick to toggle thru your playlists.
PS - there is a touch sensitive slider to change settings.

2Locke - it is a hard choice indeed, but if you really want to use MP3s to wake up there is a cheap solution. Google for “winamp alarm plug-in” :)
