Even though various people have already shown you the Zune, and all it’s Alpha, Beta and Release Candidate versions in pictures, no one had yet compared it in terms of size with the current iPod (dubbed iPod 5.5 by the community) thanks to Jake Ludington.

The pictures speak for themselves, however, what Jake said that I found surprising, is that the Zune is surprisingly lighter than the iPod. In my opinion, I prefer a smaller size over slightly less weight, I don’t think anyone has ever gone crooked for carrying an iPod before, if someone had, I’m certain that it would have been blogged by everyone.

1I picked up the new 80gb iPod in sexy black a week ago and I’m impressed. Finally something to do during my lunch at work. Scrubs, The Office, heck, even Power Rangers, all there on it. =)
The Zune reminds me of the orignal Game Boy, that thing was a hassle to carry around.

2Did sound quality of ipod get any better?
cuz except the design the ipod’s sound quality
was absolutely horrible.
U wouldn’t know unless you listen to some other ‘original’mp3 players.(ones who started the whole mp3 syndrome, it’s not the ipod that started it,i’m sure everyone knows this)
It’s companies like mpio, iriver etc.
I used to think,,,
‘mp3 is mp3, i’ll just get sleek lookin one’
What a mistake. The music quality difference
between good ones and bad ones are huge.
Ever since i learned this, i never look at the
design of mp3 player.
Only one thing matter - sound quality.
People talk about other specs of mp3 player
like they are BIG deal.
- battery life and memory capacity etc.
10 hours 20 hours.. holds 1000songs … 2000songs. Does this matter that much?
jesus christ, 2000 songs? who is this for?
a guy in prison?
Heck I dont even know if i like 2000 songs.
If u r buying mp3 player, chances are u
already got a PC. just 1 gig or so is euf.
u listen to about 50 - 100 songs per day
(i swear, quite often it’s less then that)
u work out at gym for what? an hour?
u take a bus to ur college for how long?
what 45 min? u study at the library for what
? 3 hours?
how often do u REALLY listen to a freakin
thousend songs from the beginning to the end?
It’s very easy to think what the commercial
are singing about is what I really want.
I think what I said ealier put this in the
best way.
thousends of songs playing for god knows how
many hours in your pocket.
who the hell is this for?
a guy in prison?

4The sound quality is great, just have to have good headphones to get it. My songs sound identical when I play them on my iPod and then my computer with my headphones.
As far as the capacity goes, I like to have my entire library with me (3500~ songs) as: 1) It would waste entirely too much time picking 50-100 I want to take to work every day, so why not take them all? and 2) Sometimes I don’t really want to choose a song so I just hit shuffle on all of them. It’s very convinient.
And as far as an iPod killer? Not a chance. The WiFi capabilities are so limited it may as well not even have them and battery life matters to me and that screen seems like it’ll eat up the batteries quick.
Did I mention it looks like an old school Game Boy?
