Some among us are not lucky enough to own a snappy iPod — free or not. If you are one of us unlucky sorts, then perhaps you might want to try your hand at constructing your own mp3 player.

This ever-so-minty-fresh mp3 player features off-the-shelf compact flash cards for storage and a lithium ion battery for 10 hours of play time — all in a mint tin of course.
If you like this project, check out some of Limor Fried’s other projects including a bike repair stand, a bike light, and a persistence of vision toy.

1That’s pretty neat, but the bad thing about that is the smell when you’re out and about listening to your MP3’s. I can already see it, thugs not beating up people when they see the white headphone cords, but beating up those who have a strong, fresh minty smell to them to steal their iAltoid.
