George, from Later Nerdz has just made an interesting article, which is a great idea for all present Wii owners. I think that it’s safe to say that most people that bought the Wii, didn’t buy a GameCube, or, at the very least, I can say that for myself. Since it will still be a while before better titles are released for the Wii, why not purchase some classic GameCube titles?
Here are George’s suggestions:
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Great Zelda story, cell rendered graphics.
Resident Evil 4
Awesome horror action story.
Eternal Darkness: Sanityâs Requiem
More horror action.
Super Mario Sunshine
Great game, easy to play hard to master. Unique game mechanics using the water hose.
Metroid Prime
Classic metriod first person shooter.
SSX 3
Basic snowboarding and easy to pull some neat stunts. Awesome visuals. If you really get into it though, thereâs plenty of depth.
Super Smash Bros: Melee
Almost a party title, however itâs a great âarcadeâ title. Easy to jump into, hard to master.
Mario Kart: Double Dash
Mario Kart is a fast fun racing game. The real fun is playing two players per Kart. Get four controllers for this one.
Mario Party 4, 5, 6, 7
Youâre going to have plenty of these party titles with the Nintendo Wii, but if you canât wait, pick one of these up. Play these with four players and beers for maximum enjoyment.
Animal Crossing
Iâm not going to write as if I have played this game. I havenât. But I do know that some of my friends, who I would not take as someone who would be interested in virtual farming, have become almost addicted to this game. If youâre into secret vices, check this out.
For me, I got Mario Kart: Double Dash, SSX 3, and two controllers. This should hold me over until January. If anyone has any other suggestions, leave a comment.
I might be getting a few of those, at least new Zelda and Super Mario, those two were my favorite games on the Nintendo 64, and I’m pretty sure I’ll feel the same about their more recent versions.

1I loved “Mario Sunshine.” Moreso than “64,” I think.
