After what seems like months of speculation, Apple released the new MacBook this morning. This will replace the iBook as well as the 12″ Powerbook, slimming down the Apple laptop line to three sizes across two models: 13″ MacBook and 15″ and 17″ MacBookPro.
What do you get when you put up to 2GHz of pure Intel Core Duo power, an iSight camera, Front Row, iLife â06, and a 13-inch glossy widescreen display into a sleek case? More than you thought possible for less than you thought possible. Meet MacBook, starting at $1099.

1WOOT! Finally - I almost got an iBook a few months back, after returning my bad-screen-15″-powerbook. I’m glad I waited. Now the big decision is, do I roll with white to match my iMac, or black to match my iPod?
Decisions decisions!

2It doesn’t really matter if it’s black or white…
*grabs crotch and stretches up his right arm*
Ok, I’ll stop.

LOL, Nice one.
I guess the other big decision is to whether or not to spend the £200 extra on a black version over the white, just for the colour and a slightly bigger HD.

4Yeah, didn’t see the price increase on the black model - that’s a lame move on Apple’s part. I’ll be rolling with the cheap white one, probably.

5$200 seems a little too much for the bigger HD but remember folks that the difference between high-end peripherals is sometimes higher than we think.
