Dragon Wars — the worst film of 2007

Dragon Wars… what can I say about this movie that could really hurt the filmmaker and every single person who was party to making this abomination?
I watched Dragon Wars thinking that it would hark back to the b-movie greatness of Q: The Winged Serpent (anyone still remember this amazing movie). But all did was get all the cheesiness factor of Q but discarded any kind of genius that earlier movie had. There are no words to describe how bad Dragon Wars is. It was an hour and a half of my time I will never be able to get back.
Warning to geeks out there. Avoid this movie like the plague. But if you do decide to watch this movie then heed my friend Sean’s advice — bring a condom because you’re gonna get screwed.

1Dragon Wars is a strange movie.
The effects are pretty good for a b-movie and the CGI is pretty well shot. But the live action shots look like they have been filmed by a mentally retarded child.
It also features some of the biggest plot holes i’ve ever seen, I half expected the Dragon of the title to come flying out the screen through one. I can remember off the top of my head that a hospital borderline kidnaps a women based on an odd shaped rash and calls it “quarantine”, then allows anyone to just wander in the room with no mask or gloves. This is also linked to another funny one where a reporter gets an “exclusive” about a women being mugged just so the protagonist can find out her identity and treats this story with the same reverance as watergate.
A very weird (and terrible) movie indeed.

2Glad you and I are on the same wavelength here. I was happy with the special effects with the dragons, but everything else, acting, writing, plot, certain camera shots, all fell apart. Sad because it could have been really cool.

3I know I’m going to get flack for this, but I thought AVPR was worse, just because of the damage it did to the alien and predator franchise.
that piece of crap “tideland” is a close second. I didnt know that terry gilliam was a closet pedo.

4it could of been good,never the less, live action shots were as bad as a friday in the four lights,storyline meh but wtf bout the dragons good cgi but like wtf coz like mutated birds ehhm… (cant say word on the internet)
yeh there were plot holes but reign of fire came close to the same amount.
(and no credit to filming in ireland)
