It looks like DVD Shrink has died. The website, dvdshrink.org, has a notice saying that DVD Shrink is no more.
There are a few places you can still get the software from, and you might want to before it is taken down around the web.
Alternate places to download DVD Shrink as of today:
DVDR-Digest.com
Doom9.net
MrBass.org
Anyone with any news on why DVD Shrink was taken down, please leave a comment and let me know. I know it has not been updated in a long time, and I know the author went on to work on Nero Recode (basically a paid version of DVD Shrink), but that still does not explain what’s up.

1i’m going to guess it’s the same reason dvd decryptor development was halted. [ here ]
or maybe it is the fact that he’s working for nero and doesn’t make sense for him to develop a for-profit product and a free-as-in-beer competing software product [ here ]

3I guess you guys did not read my post… I know he got the job, but usually people that make free software have a reason for making it and distributing it free. I know that money is a big draw, but that still does not explain why he took it down. Did Ahead ask him to take it down? Did he just not want to renew his domain and stuff? That’s the real question.

5It’s a shame that development halted, however I think we should wish him good luck. I’m glad that a product with a quality programmer as him will make it into the market, if you were him you’d probably make the same decision without much thought.
