I broke my cellphone for the 10th time this month and figured it’s a good time to get a new one. With this I also decided that moving to another carrier will not be an issue. So with this I am asking the audience which phone they recommend for Scrivs. Let’s make the price under $500 please ;-). Anything else is up for grabs.

1The Nokia 6800 or 6820. Built-in qwerty keyboard without making it any bigger than any other candy bar phone, you can buy an SSH client for it cheap (7280 for when you’re going out clubbing… just switch out the SIM card :-)

2I would get the T-Mobile Sidekick, because I HATE phones, and love AIM/Email. And web sites.

3PS the Sidekick is free on Amazon. Which is well under $500. And who spends $500 on a cell phone anyway? Gees that’s crazy. You could buy a used car for that much, and drive around in it talking on your free cell phone.

4From Nokia, there’s 7610.
And from Samsung, there’s E310.

5Man JC you like some ugly phones. Anyways, I got the new phone today. Maybe I will write a review of it. In any case I like to hear what else people recommend.

6It should go without saying that I meant every other phone you spoke of besides the 6820. Geez man :-P In any case there are a lot of nice ones out. I was hoping to find the Treo 650, but alas the T-Mobile people told me they might get it in December if at all.
Woe is me.

7I’m with Derek. Who actually pays for a cell phone? Whatever happened to getting the default free ones? Not as cool, but FREE!
Besides, after rebates and credits Verizon actually paid me money to get my LG something-or-other. :)

8Yeah I would say get a Treo 650, but Sprint doesn’t have it yet, and that’s my provider. Been with them for over 4 years now! But choose something that will be happy with, you don’t want to get stuck with a crappy phone.

Yep. I actually got two free phones from AT&T Wireless back in February. They gave me a Samsung X426 for extending my contract another 6 months, and two weeks later they sent me a SonyEricsson T610 for putting up with the crappy T68i for almost two years. I use the Samsung.

11Yea unfortuantly since I lost my phone cingular won’t give me a free phone or even a phone at the contract price. I had to go to LostMyPhone.com to buy a replacement phone since reading some reviews about there quailty and customer service.

12I am not having much luck with LostMyPhone. After paying a significant amount for a “Like New” phone, I received a phone with a dead battery and rust inside. Getting ahold of someone via telephone has been very difficult and I didn’t get great customer service when I finally did reach a human being. At this time, I am not recommending them. I should have just purchased a new phone. Grrrr!

13I ordered a refurbished phone from Lostmyphone.com which stopped working after 3-4 weeks. They sent a replacement that would not vibrate, which I found out after missing several calls. I returned that phone, as well, after getting a RMA from them. I never did recieve a replacement. Luckily, the credit card company issued a full refund of the charges. I would not trust Lostmyphone.com.
