Despite the recent announcement of 100 million IE 7 installations, Firefox, the world’s most popular Open-Source browser continues to gain market share:

While Microsoft had the WebSideStory numbers correct, it didn’t tell the whole story, says Geoff Johnston, an analyst with the Web metrics company. “[The growth of IE 7] seems to be exclusively at the expense of IE 6,” says Johnston. “It’s not eating into the Firefox share at all.”

In my case, my girlfriend’s, and of various friends of mine, we all have Internet Explorer 7 on our computers because it’s the most secure build of IE. It’s part of the Windows package, so we update all of Microsoft’s programs as much as we can, however, we all continue to use Firefox.
