A great entry over at 43 Folders discussing the games geeks play while doing tedious tasks. Hell, I am not even sure I should regulate that to just geeks, since I believe everyone tends to play games in their mind when doing really boring things.

For example, when shopping with a girl I like to see how many new dance moves I can come up with in the store before she picks out a single shirt to buy. My record is 239 new and unique moves.

On long drives there is always the license plate game where you try to find all 50 state license plates. If you are able to complete this game it usually means that your drive is too damn long.

And finally, one that I played a lot this weekend, is the Last Name game. You pick a category, for example Musical Artists, and one person names somebody. Whatever the first letter of the last name is, that has to be the first letter of the first name for the next person to name.

  • Michael Jackson
  • John Lennon
  • Lita Ford

…and etc.
