Engadget has posted an article on how to turn your iPod into a universal remote control. You can control basically any electronic device; your tv, stereo, Xbox, DVD player, etc. It’s a time consuming and complicated process, but if you already have an iPod, a Pocket PC, a computer, and a few other things, I guess it could be a fun project. Or you could just buy a universal remote control at Radio Shack for $10. But that just wouldn’t be geeky, would it.

1A little too extreme for me. But cool none the less.

2Seeing as they use a PDA to create the ‘audio files’ for the iPod, why don’t they just use the PDA? I have a friend who has some universal remote software for his PDA that uses the built in IR port. Handy when you don’t like the program on a public TV.
