It seems that yet another Microsoft product has ended up being leaked onto the internet, despite their wishes. But don’t worry, you’re not missing out on a lot with this new version, except for the Vista-graphics overhaul (pimp my MSN anyone?).
This leak spread from a spanish community of MSN fans, and has made quite a splash in the blogging scene. There are already dozens of websites claiming to be hosting the original leaked version, but be advised that some of these include malware, or have been altered to include advertisement that will favor the person who altered it.
If such things don’t bother you, then go ahead, but I wouldn’t recommend trying the product right now, due to the high number of unreliable sources. As a beta tester of some of Microsoft’s products, I feel disgusted that some trusted users allowed this to spread. This will only result in less public beta tests in the future, and in the end, we will all suffer from it because the programs will be released with more flaws.
Oh wait, I forgot about another thing that users will miss out on, a new bunny emoticon, which you can already copy and use from this site: ![]()
So there you have it folks, with that bunny, you already have all of the functionality of Messenger 8.5. Please wait for a beta or an official release, it shouldn’t be too long now.

3It sucks for Microsoft, but it’s just the sort of thing that /will/ happen with such a system.
