While at the Northern Voice conference in Vancouver, British Columbia Canada, I was able to meet up with a few of the folks that work on Flock, the social web browser. I asked them many questions, some harder than others, and they answered them with grace, so much so that I am going to be giving the browser another go starting today.

Flock recently released their version 1.0, and I have been hearing great things about it. One of the advantages of Flock over Firefox or other browsers is its ability to make blogging easier. It allows you to bring in your Flickr photos, snippets of content, and your ideas together and publish them on your blog. It includes support for many publishing platforms including WordPress.

They have also made browsing more social, something that I personally need help with as I work from home, alone. Being able to pass content to my friends, as well as keep track of what they are doing is of great advantage to me.

Honestly though, more than anything, actually meeting the people involved make it easy to stand behind a project, and be impressed with it, as the software will only ever be as good as the people involved, and the guys I met from Flock were great. If you haven’t tried Flock, give it a go. If you have tried it before their 1.0 release, do like I am, and give it another shot.
