Some of you are going to be cynicle about this, and that’s fine - but I’m excited about this idea. The One Laptop Per Child program is a great way, I think, to spread technology to developing countries. I hope, sincerely, that these people already have other necessities before they get computers, but I think spreading computer knowledge across the world is a great idea.

The OLPC program will cost you $399 for your laptop. You’ll get one, and a child in another country will get one as well. It’s a great way to not only get a cool, cheap, laptop, but also help a child who would never have the opportunity to get a computer at all, get a nice, inexpensive machine, to learn about the world that computing can open up.

but, yeah - they’ll probably play video games and watch porn with it. Ah well…
