A number of reports have been leaking in that the iPhone 3G is prone to overheating. One forum poster reported that he left his iPhone on his pocket when he fell asleep. He reportedly woke up with a burned leg. The guy reported that he quickly pulled out his phone and saw that a part of the plastic cover melted. The strange thing here is that the phone was not enabled to push emails and he also disabled the “blazing 3G speed” setting.
One comment I’ve read said that this is prone to happen if the auto-lock function of the phone is not activated. Whatever the reason for overheating though it is not a good sign.

2Not even about 20mins i picked up my Iphone 3G and it was burning up hot, I could feel the heat before i picked up the phone off of my bed, and dumb me, I put it to my ear and well lets just say, i wish i had gotten the instint (sprint).
I guess Steve Jobs needs to do a recall between the frequent dropped calls,over-heating phones, and 12 day waiting period, i had to go threw so far….i hate it.

3I noticed my phone started to overheat ever since I put a screen protector on the screen. Has anyone observed this? Also, the phone doesn’t auto lock..so this is what causes it to overheat.
