The Screen Savers Is No More
Thursday, Mar. 17 2005 | Author: jeremyG4 is killing off the last bit of evidence that TechTV ever existed. Effective Monday, March 28th, The Screen Savers will be known as Attack of the Show.
As was just announced on The Screen Savers today, the show will be changing its name on Monday, March 28th to Attack of the Show. Due to what we’re sure is going to be a large volume of feedback, we’d like to keep it all in this thread in order to keep the rest of the board free to discuss other topics.
That has to be the worse name ever. Would love to hear Leo Laporte’s thoughts on this.

2Yuck! It’s kind of weird that I went from watching TechTV nearly all my free time, to not watching it for several months. I can’t see how anyone can watch that crap; I wonder how kevin rose can handle it…**shudder**

4G4 sucks, Leo Laporte Sucks (you do know that he had an affair with Laura, right?), and anyone who watches G4 sucks. G4 should rename its station to Big Bowl of Shit.

5I sense an air of disgust for TechTV here. Maybe it’s just for G4.
Personally, I used to love ZDTV and watched The Screen Savers daily, back when it was just Leo Laporte and Kate Botello. I think it slowly started to degrade once ZDTV became TechTV and when they merged with G4, that was pretty much the end of it.
Too bad.

9I love how G4 has also pretty much said that people can’t complain about the programs anymore. I get the feeling that they are saying you will watch and you will like it. When the merge between G4 and TechTv first was announced I thought “wow, I like video games and I like computers, what a great combo.” Now I am disgusted at the shows that are on the channel. Right now there is only 1 original TechTv show left on G4, X-Play, and that is slowly going downhill.

10X play hasn’t change any of its cast or crew, so I don’t see it going down hill. But you are right, it’s the only good show remaining, and the only show I still watch. G4 is horrible. The worst part is, when they first merged, they claimed they would respect techtv fans. If they were just going to screw us over, why bother lying?

11I was expecting change when G4 and TechTv merged, but this is fricking ridiculous!! I seriously only watched TechTV every chance I had! Now, I haven’t watched it in 8 months or so…. I watched it today though, I wanted to rip my eyes out! It was so painful to watch show after show about video games….. I’d like to thank all the big wigs and Tv execs for ruining a great network. Thank you for also selling out your audience base as well.

It just kills me. How could they keep a crappy show like Robot Wars (Tsk, Tsk, Battlebots was better) but get rid of Unscrewed? Makes no sense.

13Yep. G4 really does blow chunks. I am a gamer, and as a gamer, G4 is just a bunch of bs LOL they think they are talking about videogames but all they do is pure feculence. They make stupid events like “g-phoria” which is totally not about videogames but about noobs partying and stuff roflmao they suck so much I hope they all burn LOL >:D

14G4 was always good. ZDTV, TechTV, or whatever the hell you call it was boring and nobody watches a channel that is made for loser computer nerds. Sorry but, good riddance to TechTV!

15Shaun, many of the people that watched TechTV were interested in knowledge, and advancements in technology. Most people who watch G4 are interested in sitting on their couch playing final fantasy.

16the G4 tech tv merger could have been great, if they kept screen savers and some other zdtv shows, but to dump them, and then dump g4tv.com, which was the best g4 show, thats awful. Maybe they are purposly trying to ruin the network to get insurance money or something

17G4 is stupid. I hate everyone on that channel with their stupid little shows about playing video games.
I play video games, and I have never seen anything on G4 that was uesful to me as a gamer. I don’t need to sit there and listen to someone elses opinions on what I should be playing and what I shouldn’t be playing.
What’s worse are the people they get to host the shows. They really urk me to the point where I’d love to slap them all. The stupid skater looking guys and the whory looking sluts that they get. They probably don’t know shit about video games other than what’s written on the cards for them to read from.
I hope G4 burns in hell!
