If you feel a little inspired by the upcoming James Bond or Mission Impossible movies, then you might want to try out Kingston’s new self-destructing flash drive.
No, the drive won’t actually burst into flames or disintegrate (what a waste of geek gadgetry), but the data would be automatically cleared and cleaned after 25 unsuccessful access attempts to guess your password by brute force.
The 4GB flash drive encrypts all data with 128-bit AES, and then adds an extra layer of security: a self destruct feature. If anyone tries to use a brute-force attack to guess your password, the drive will automatically erase itself after 25 wrong guesses.
As for me, I’m in eager anticipation of Bourne Ultimatum. I like my spy movies more nuanced.
