In an extremely crowded weekend of films, TMNT managed to take the top spot with $25.5 Million. The opening wasn’t quite as big as the original film or the first sequel, but the opening was strong…it took the weekend…and with the weekend as crowded as it was, it has to be considered a big success for the Turtles franchise.

300 continued to dominate as well, taking the second spot, with Wild Hogs rounding out the Top 3.

It’s been a big year for comics related movies so far this year, and with Spider-Man 3, FF 2, more still to come, it’s going to be a BIG, BIG year for comics at the movies.
