Although Vista has been a buzzword lately, or was a buzzword, depending on where you live or what your interest in it is, it appears that once again it has been proved to be less efficient than it’s older brother, Windows XP.

Pfeiffer Consulting, an international research and consulting organization, that specializes in technology and media, have recently released a report which explains why Windows Vista will actually make you less efficient when working on it.

Not only is Vista performing slowly in simple tasks like opening menus, but also in desktop applications and mouse precision which is crucial for people who work in applications like Photoshop or Autocad.

Pfeiffer Consulting advises to think very carefully before migrating or upgrading to Windows Vista in the creative department. Their benchmarks show that creative professionals will actually become less productive than they would be when using Windows XP. Of course, Mac OS X remains a clear winner in this area. The reasons why that is so is explained in Pfeiffer’s full report on the matter.

I don’t mean to sound like a troll, but it’s becoming more evident to me that if you’re going to upgrade your computer soon, now should be the time to jump sides to a Mac. Windows is clearly going in the opposite direction of functionality. The Mac OS X might not be as “transparent” as Vista, but at least it’s not as “transparent” as Vista is to malware.
