I have been waiting for this movie forever. Seriously it has been my only “must watch” movie of 2004 right ahead of Kill Bill Vol. 2.
The Wired reviewer reviews the movie and pretty much says it kicks ass. He just wastes his time doing in 20 paragraphs. The highlight to me and what seals the deal is this:
Ghost in the Shell is a serious sci-fi film, but also includes some unintended, kitschy joys — goofy, clunky dialog, exposition that feels completely unnatural and animation that, though striking, today looks uneven and jittery. The second Ghost in the Shell (it’s not exactly a sequel) is objectively superior — more elegant, accomplished, disciplined and beautiful to behold.
Tomorrow is the release of the movie. September 17. One problem. The damn thing isn’t showing at a single theater here in Tampa, at least I can’t find one. Just my luck.

1Scrivs, ever check out the Ghost in the Shell animated series? It’s got a cool soundtrack, plus it’s also freakingly amazingly animated.

2Stand alone complex? They just released the DVDs I believe and I have only been able to catch a few eps, but you know I will be on it.

3For the GITS: Stand alone complext “2nd gig” I recommend googling for “Lauging Man Fansubs”–they’ve got a lot of the Ep’s, and as far as I know are the only people subbing this series.
