Basically like many other content boxes, the Xbox 360 will have locking controls over content viewed and played on the Xbox 360. This means that parents can lock-down the system to only play Mature and under rated games.

According to an article on Japanese website Mainichi, parents will be able to set up the console so it will only play games with the appropriate age rating. Meaning that setting it to play anything Mature or below and you’re 17-year old won’t be able to play AO games even if they have got their grubby mitts on a copy.

The Mainichi article states that the new features will be built-in to US, European and Japanese units something which has never been done or attempted before.

No doubt the hackers will be all over it like wildfire when the console does eventually launch, but at least the thought is there.
