Hot on the heals of the Adobe CS2 release, Apple rumor site ThinkSecret has obtained some details on the plans for Adobe Photoshop CS3.
Adobe is exploring offering two versions of Photoshop CS3, a Standard version and a Premium version. According to one plan under consideration, some principle new features, such as Camera Raw 4, would be available to both versions, while other functionality, such as Vanishing Point 2, would be available with more advanced options in the Premium version. Still other features, such as rotoscoping that was introduced in CS2, would be moved exclusively to the Premium package.
It appears that there will also be some interface enhancements, as well as better support for Tablets.
As part of this story, ThinkSecret also reveiled information about a yet-to-be-announced product called Apple Photo Pro. Apparently it will be geared toward users that manage large amounts of photos and include features such as batch processing, better support for RAW formats, and more.

1Does this mean normal people will be able to afford a copy? Or does it mean the price goes up another thousand and I’ll have to get a pirated copy if I ever want to use it?

2For everything that Photoshop is capable of doing, I think it’s very worth the money, however it is not for everyone’s pockets. If you want a cheaper alternative try Paint Shop Pro.

3Nothing compares to Photoshop in quality or price…
Sadly I feel the price is far over the quality.

4Geez I hope it’s not bloatware. I still use CS over CS2 because CS2 is such a hog. Time will tell.
