Dell is at it again. $750 off select Inspiron units, but is limited to the first 15,000 orders so get on it.
The mad dash starts this morning at 9AM ET (8AM CT, 6AM PT). You’ve got to act fast because Dell has only allocated 15,000 units to this deal, and believe it or not, they’ll
easily sell out in under two hours (probably half that time). Starting with the links provided below, use coupon code: VRSG541NMGQ800 for $750 off on the one you want.
For those that are priced below $1499 (the original price you see crossed out at the top of each configuration), you’ll need to upgrade it until you reach the $1499+ mark.

1Using Newegg.com and TigerDirect.com there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to build a better computer for 500 bucks, or if you’re feeling frisky, you can build a 3.6ghz 256meg graphics card, 2gig ram computer for 900. Just buy parts, assemble it… aquire windows XP. Game over. Dell sucks anyway, they built my brothers computer. I had to reinstall windows, thier sound devices, graphics card, and all additional ONBOARD hardware was FUBAR and I had to fix all that bullshit.
Dell is evil incarnate, do not feed the monster.

2These are laptops Wali, don’t be a tool.

3Idiot, the dell sucks arguement still applies to this. They suck ass.
Also, congrats on using tool as slang in the wrong way, asshat.
Sorry for that.
Onto the point, a HP laptop for 1k would be FAR superior to the dell shit. And I can say that everyone I know hp is a good company, unlike a certain company whose name I’m going to mention (DELL).
You’d have to pay more, but you’d get a 17in brightview, 80 gig hd, 128gig vid card, 2.4ghz processor, gig of ram, cd/dvd burner, QUALITY UNIT, what more could you ask for? I’d pay 259830923 dollars just not to buy a dell, and I don’t have 289578596 dollars, so I’d be computerless. It’d be worth it though, since the dell would be broke when I got it.
Just to note, the comp setup I’ve described there bought from HP would run 1k, and it’d be reliable and not fucking BROKE when you got it. Plus, it’d be far superior to these peices of junk.

4Could we _not_ have this conversation? I’m pretty sure the coupon is expired, so it’s moot at this point.

5I will never buy from Dell, ever. Nor any other company that engages in outsourcing. Its just wrong, in every sense of the word

61. Dell is not evil. They kick ass in what they do, which is selling. They’re crazy efficient, so buck for buck, there’s no way HP can match Dell–which happens to be the reason dell is scraping in money while HP pc unit is going down the drain.
2. HP is not ‘QUALITY UNIT’, at least not any more or less than Dell. Not a single company out there can make the whole computer, except perhaps Asus. Both Dell and HP get their components from pretty much the same pool of manufacturers mostly in China or Taiwan so it’s same shit.
3. Your bro’s Dell broke, so they’re evil? Dumbass.

9Wow, you’re not too smart are you cliche?

101. Dell runs their computers before shipping. If it came broke, it’s the carrier’s fault, or you’re just a lying dumbass.
2. Dell is the only company who’s making any money off of pc (aside from Apple). They do this by making shitty computers, right dumbass?
3. Since you think HP is all that, try to match even one of the six deals that Scivs posted in the original post with a HP counterpart dumbass.
4. As I’ve stated on post #6 and now… dumbass!
and in Mother Russia, you’d best stand in line for the rebate to apply to you.

12So you’re telling me that the BRAND NEW computer was broke by the carrier? Because dropping it or anything like that would definatly fuck up every piece of hardware and cause an error that doesn’t allow XP to start up due to login problems? Where you have to get a new soundcard/videocard/other crap because they sent you just that, crap?
I remember this artical I didn’t read anywhere that said carriers went and fucked up computers before they went and brought them to thier destination, resealing it and all that without leaving a trace.
It happened, I had to fix it. Dell sucks.
Onto the HP thing.

You’ll pay slightly more for a system that’s FAR SUPERIOR to dell and WILL NOT arrive broke. At least, from my experiance. Dell is the devil.
Flame on Cliche, it only makes you look like an idiot.

13DELL IS EVIL they are big rip-offs considering also that you can build your own computer with an AMD athlon 64 FX-55 processor (=to an Intel 4.06 Ghz)with a motherboard that supports PCI express, with 1 gb of pc4200 ddr2 ram, a DVD-RW dual layer optical drive, floppy, case w/ 740W power supply, DUAL nVidia GeForce 6800GT 256MB Graphics cards (Dual GPU’s is via SLI), SoundBlaster Audigy2, 160GB Hard Drive, TV TUNER PCI CARD (to WATCH, CAPTURE, and EDIT TV!) with antenna AND throw in a 1GB thumbdrive, YOU STILL PAY ONLY ABOUT 1000!!!
And you can get an average CPU with a Celeron 2.93 CD Burner 256 MB DDR nVidia 5200 FX GPU and Sound with case and 80GB Hard Drive FOR 400!!!!!!!!!

14Yeah, man, I’ll just tell my mom to go pick up all that stuff and build herself a computer today!
uh… yeah.
idiot. absolute idiot.
We have an entire company full of dell computers and dell servers. IT staff gets a hardware problem report that requires an onsite visit maybe twice a week, and most of those end up being something stupid that the user was told to do over the phone and didn’t (ie, turn the printer off and on again, unplug the usb mouse and plug it in again).
I can think of only two serious hardware problems we’ve had in the last 3 years… on a compaq database server, the raid controller went bad and started writing junk data to the hard drives (after 3 years of problem-free operation); and a server was shipped with a bad mainboard, and the replacement mainboard they sent was flawed in the same way. The second replacement (overnighted at no expense) worked fine. (I think it worked fine initially and began to fail once it was running in the rack, which is a bit warmer than it should be; not something they’d catch in burn-in, but something covered).
