Intel is planning on quietly phasing out the Pentium moniker that it has used since 1993. Instead, it will simply use names for each processor, such as “Intel D 920″. This represents a shift in focus from the processor brand to the platform.
According to Krewell, the processor is becoming less important in Intel’s product line-up: “Intel downplays the processor brand. The spotlight is on platforms such as Centrino,” he said. He expects that the loss of Pentium will have a financial, impact, but believes that it will not large enough to hurt Intel: “They can throw an amazing amount of cash at branding as soon as a new product is announced.”

2Currently the submissions aren’t working. Same as the forums. Reason being that the owner didn’t have enough free time to handle it due to personal issues. I expect a major fix of some of FG’s biggest flaws very soon. As soon as the service and everything else that is down is fixed someone, or myself, will post an article about it.
If you want, you can use my e-mail temporarily to submit stories, just send them to griffith.pt {AT} gmail.com and thank you for your interest.

3In case no one has noticed it, FG is hosed in IE now. Works fine in Opera and Firefox, but looks totally screwed up in IE…

4It’s a conspiracy. Next, they’re gonna drop support for Intel chips. Wait…

5Yikes, you’re right, but I think that’s because of a code error that FG didn’t have before.
