Coming this fourth quarter will be 4 Intel Core Extreme Processors, codenamed Penryn. The best of these will hit 3.33Ghz and run a 1333MHz system bus with 12 Mb of L2 cache.
Although the system bus falls 4MHz short from being the world’s first 1337 processor, the folks over at AMD probably aren’t too happy with this announcement since they just revealed their own new lineup.

I wonder if this announcement will make people hold out for the release of these processors. In my opinion, the current generation of processors are already “overkill” for the needs of most people, but those hardcore gamers out there will probably start saving your money to buy these new chips.
