Well, just what the title says. Microsoft has released the Beta 2 of their next Internet Explorer Browser, version 7.
Evaluation of Internet Explorer 7 should start now, but the software should not be used on production systems in mission-critical environments. Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview will only run on Windows® XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) systems, but will ultimately be available for Windows Vista, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, and Windows Server 2003.

1From what I’ve been hearing, the new IE7 beta requires a user to validate their copy of Windows through the Windows Genuine Advantage system. For those of us who’ve had to re-install our OS and phone Microsoft to activate their copy of Windows, the beta might not install because of a problem with WGA.
Pretty crappy if you ask me. If this makes it into the final version of IE7, Microsoft will be shutting out a lot of legitimate copies due to a broken validation system.
