It looks like certain sources are reporting that ATI is planning to discontinue its All-In-Wonder video cards. For those that don’t know ATI’s AIW cards are video cards with TV tuners and other such features. The details say that ATI wants to concentrate on stand alone graphics cards and stand alone TV tuners.
It is probably a good move for them as people are more reluctant to replace a video card that does more than just help them play their favourite video games. This also allows ATI to make you purchase two devices, which could increase their profit. There is no official word yet on why they would go in such a direction, but some people believe that it is ATI’s purchase by AMD that lead to such a change.

Wow, this really seems to be the way to the future. Instead of evolving to more convergence devices were evolving them into separate ones so the companies can make more money.
