Sony has recently discovered that in humid environments some of their camera models can lead to the loss of image on the LCD. According to DPreview:

we assume this vague description to mean that live view fails due to overheating of the CCD

However, Sony has also said that they will repair, for free, any camera that shows sign of this problem. The models affected were:

The cameras affected were sold between September 2003 and January 2005, they are the DSC-F88, DSC-M1, DSC-T1, DSC-T11, DSC-T3, DSC-T33, DSC-U40 and DSC-U50.

From my personal experience, I have owned a DSC-T3 for slightly over a year, and I live in Madeira Island, which has a very humid environment, and I’ve never seen any signs of this problem on my camera. So, before you jump on the “I hate Sony” bandwagon, the company has already acknowledged these products’ defects and offer repairs for them.

That’s more than Apple has done lately for it’s White MacBook flaws, like the cracks that appear on the front, or the discoloration of it, and this is coming from me, a person that really likes Apple.

Sorry for that small rant but frankly I hate when people start exaggerating their negative, or positive, thoughts about anything.
