Dell has recently placed a topic on their IdeaStorm website, which allows any user to vote for product design choices that will allow Firefox to be pre-installed, and set as the default browser, on all Dell systems, if it becomes popular enough.
If Dell does indeed choose to do this, I wonder Microsoft will react, seeing that now not only will they lose a bit of their Operative System share, but also a part of their browser share.
When my Sony laptop came back from repairs I was very surprised that Firefox and Google Toolbar were already installed. Is this a new start, or a change of tides for Microsoft? Time will tell, I guess.

1What they don’t tell you is Google allows you to make money on all the clicks from firefox and Google toolbar. Sony, Dell, HP, all of them will get commissions when you use the pre-installed toolbar. I think you’ll see more of this from manufacturers, at least until Microsoft starts paying commissions for ads. NOT! Hey, whatever works!
