Camino 1.0: The Perfect Valentine’s Gift

Mozilla will released Camino 1.0 on February 14.

The Camino project has worked to create a browser that is as functional and elegant as the computers it runs on. The Camino web browser is powerful, secure, and ready to meet the needs of all types of users while remaining simple and elegant in its design.

Many Mac users have opted for Camino over Firefox and even Safari. I go back and forth myself, but always open it up for testing and to check out the improvements with each new release. Any FG’ers using it as their default browser?

Camino has been my default browser ever since I started using quicksilver. There is no browser, at least to me, that starts up quicker, runs faster, and isn’t that crash prone. Not to mention that it is well integrated with osx. But for the sake of god, can they please put rss support with easy keyboard navigation?!

In my experience Camino has been faster than Safari, crashses less, has less bugs, better interface, etc…

Camino is a browser, though that is lacking in features, like Darren said specifically in RSS. However, I’ve found that better than any Firefox plugin or Safari RSS feature, is the combination between NetNewsWire and Camino.

Alex is correct in saying that netnewswire and camino is a great combination. It’s a snap when reading rss feeds in nnw and have the webpages load in the background in camino. For some reason, I’m a stickler for using less RAM as possible, that’s why I want to use one app instead of two.

I was, until I found an intel build of Firefox. I can’t live without my extensions (and the fact that sometimes the active tab is not even visible, if you have too many open is just ridiculous)
