Thunderbird 1.0.7 Released

Mozilla has released version 1.0.7 of it’s Thunderbird E-mail Client. This update is mainly to fix security issues.

One of the problems fixed in the Thunderbird update is a Linux command line URL parsing security flaw that Secunia has rated “extremely critical”. The vulnerability could allow an attacker run malicious code on a vulnerable system, the security monitoring company said.

Mozilla has also released Thunderbird 1.1 Alpha 2.

1.1 Alpha? Ha, I have a 1.5 copy that’s already in Beta status! So… to plot this out on a timeline:

1.5 Beta 1 released
1.0.7 released
1.1 Alpha 2 released

Thank you OSS versioning schemes for keeping everyone 100% sure they aren’t running out of date software with security flaws in it!

I support Thunderbird, but I still can’t tear myself away from Pegasus Mail, even after trying Thunderbird two times. I’m keeping an eye on it, though.
