A Linux distribution that seems to get rave reviews, but not tried by many because you have to purchase it is Xandros. Well now they have a free, non-commercial edition available and if you are interested in Linux or are currently using it I would highly recommend that you give this a shot. There are some minor caveats, such as you can only burn CDs at the minimum speed of your burner, but its something to deal with.
