Well it looks like Yahoo finally has one-upped Google with the announcement of their API. Now you can access the tons of data in the Yahoo database for use in your own non-commercial applications. Google did this three years ago, but you never hear any developments about it that much unlike you do with Amazon’s API where a new application seems to appear on a daily basis.

Yahoo’s stuff includes:

• The ability to do 5,000 queries a day (Google’s limit is 1,000)
• Use of REST instead of SOAP. In my experience REST is much easier to work with
• Developer Weblog
• Developer Wiki
• Developer Mailing Lists

Very nice stuff. Should be fun playing around with this once I get the time.
